DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with engineering, product, QA, and security teams to define infrastructure requirements and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security; proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure operational visibility.
  • Manage containerized applications and orchestration platforms.
  • Ensure infrastructure security best practices, including identity management, secrets handling, and compliance standards.
  • Optimize cloud costs, scalability, and performance across environments.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, and runbooks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
  • Strong foundation in Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
    • CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins)
    • Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
    • Containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
    • Version control systems such as Git
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience managing secure environments, including IAM, encryption, and secrets management.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security scanning.
  • Familiarity with blue-green deployments, canary releases, and zero-downtime deployment strategies.
  • Experience supporting high-traffic, large-scale production systems.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery planning and high availability architectures.
  • Effective team collaboration skills and comfort working in agile environments.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.
